Halleluiah!
The NVC just confirmed they received my I-171H today from the Denver USCIS office and have forwarded it to Nepal (via mail). It will take several days to reach Nepal since it wasn’t sent electronically, but this is still great.
I have been reading numerous U.S.-based posts and blogs regarding the need for dossiers to be translated once they arrive in Nepal. My dossier did arrive in Nepal today and although I haven't received my guarantee letter (NVC issues as you may have read about below), I wanted to confirm it didn't need to be translated. I spoke to my caseworker this morning and she said that dossiers do not need to be translated and should be delivered to the Ministry in English.
Dossier Required according to “Terms and Conditions and Process for Granting Approval for Adoption of Nepali Child by an Alien - 2065 (2008)”
All documents should be in English.
Notary public/ Authorized entity must attest documents
translated from other languages.
This is available at: http://www.mowcsw.gov.np/doc_folder/18prospective%20adoptive%20parents%20Sheet.pdf
I thought this information might be helpful. I also posted it on the Yahoo Groups for active adoptions from Nepal at NepalAdopt.
